ESG NOFA Released


The County of Kern ESG NOFA has been released. Click the link to review the full NOFA.

The County Planning and Natural Resources Department is accepting proposals from eligible organizations providing assistance to persons who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness within the County entitlement jurisdiction service area. The County entitlement jurisdiction includes all of unincorporated Kern County plus the cities of California City, Ridgecrest, Tehachapi, and Shafter. See Note below.
The ESG program provides funding to meet the following objectives:

  1. Rapidly re-house homeless individuals and families;
  2. Improve the number and quality of emergency shelters for homeless individuals and families;
  3. Help operate emergency shelters;
  4. Provide essential services to shelter residents; 
  5. Engage homeless individuals and families living on the street; and
  6. Prevent families/individuals from becoming homeless.
